SC Streamcast #02: PewDiePie and Hatfros

What is a “Hatfro”? It’s what happens when 90’s video game graphics are so ambiguous that it can’t decide if something is hair or head-wear. It’s only a small part of thisย SC Streamcast, but a point worth clearing up. Having said that, what exactly is anย SC Streamcastย anyway? With this being only our second episode, I’m not entirely sure that we know ourselves. In many ways, and with my hand on my heart, it’s a whim; a half-baked idea that I’m playing around with. While its off-the-cuff nature is undeniable, there is some consideration behind its format. Streams, as delightful and interesting as they can be, are quite exclusive in their scope and focus.…   [continue reading]

SC Streamcast #01, Two SCP Minis and General Updates

It seems that I lied in my previous post, intended as a sort of temporary finale. The idea was for that to be the last piece on Secret Caveย until Issue #1: Birth sees release. I had a feeling that wouldn’t be the case. Too many things have happened that require a small update on the site itself. So, while Benjamin and I keep working on the zine, I thought I’d put this out as timely housekeeping. Incidentally, before I move into other territory, work on the zine has been a mixed bag. We’ve been coming out with some very strong results lately, and I can’t wait to make them public.…   [continue reading]

WWE Money in the Bank 2017 [LIVE TWEET STREAM/REPORT]

For some reason, despite an intriguing card, I found myself unable to get too excited forย Money in the Bank this year. I put that down to some personal rumblings going on in my life at the moment. That aside, I knew we’d be in for something worth seeing. I’d probably resigned to just watch the damn thing, rather than overthinking it too much. With a historic women’s Money in the Bank match scheduled, along with the standard edition as the main event, this pay-per-view was certain to be memorable in some way.

In the end, thisย was surely one of the strangest cardsย I’ve ever seen.…   [continue reading]

WWE Extreme Rules 2017 [LIVE TWEET STREAM/REPORT]

Assumption is the mother of all fuck-ups. I had assumed that this was going to be one of those pay-per-views that just hits on every level. My expectations going into this one were unbelievably high, sinceย Extreme Rulesย boasted a deeply promising card. Unfortunately, it didn’t deliver quite to the level I had hoped.ย It is, however, easily the best PPV since this year’sย WrestleMania. The main-event delivered in spades, while we also saw great matches for the Cruiserweight and Intercontinental Championships. Another thing of note is how well it dealt with its stories. The beautifully edited promo-packages only helped get these narratives across.…   [continue reading]
